The celebration of the birth of Robert Burns, the poet laureate of Scotland, has been an ongoing tradition around the world for 266 years. These celebrations generally include the poetry, music and songs written by Burns along with some great food, good friends and of course beverages to warm the heart.

Here in Cleveland the Scottish Heritage Association of Northeastern Ohio has been hosting the Robert Burns event for many years. The evening is filled with Scottish Traditions and celebrations with food, music, dancing and fun. Many families have made it an annual family event and have passed this tradition down over the generations. Others join us for the first time and enjoy the evening so much they come back year after year.

We also have many of the Burns favorites planned this year and have made some accommodations in order to support the health and safety of all involved:

Meal: The meal is served family style. There are vegan and gluten free meals available upon request. The Haggis and the Scottish Baked Goods are included.

Music: We are excited to announce that Plaid Sabbath is not only going to open the evening with music before our meal, they will be providing music for some of our traditional Scottish Ceilidh dances. The Red Hackle Pipes and Drums will be our pipe band.

Dancing: You can't have great music without dancing. The Heather Belles from the Jenny May School of Highland Dance will be with us again with both Traditional and Contemporary dances.

Libations: There is a full evening cash bar. This year we are looking forward to again featuring a Scottish Ale from Brick and Barrel.

Attire: This is a time to dress up. Wear your Highland attire or cocktail and evening attire.
